My First 5K Initiation

Dear runner,

Welcome to the My First 5K Plan.

In a span of 5 weeks, you will go from somebody who could not run even a few hundred meters without stopping and being out of breath, to somebody who will do their first 5K run!

All that is required during these 5 weeks is for you to make some time for yourself, and be consistent and disciplined in following the plan.

It will not ask for much – just (upto) 30 minutes of your time, 4 days a week. Thats all. Give this to yourself and see your body work its magic.

Before you start

1. Open an account for yourself on this site via https://motiv8coaching.com/clubmotiv8/login/

Use your GMail/Google account details for this.

2. To record your runs, you will need to use one of the following:

  • A GPS watch like Garmin or Apple Watch.
  • Strava app on your phone. Download this app today and familiarize yourself with it. Note that Strava may prompt you to upgrade to their premium edition, but you do not need that edition for the purposes of this program.

3. Running shoes – any good comfortable running shoes are fine. Decathlon, Nike, Adidas – any brand is fine.

4. Running attire – wear a comfortable running short/tights and preferably a dri-fit running tee. Any brand is fine.

After you start

  • Try to be as consistent as possible.
  • Try not to miss your workouts which are given in the plan.
  • If you miss workout, ask me how to make up for them.
  • Stick to the plan as closely as possible. If you feel fresh, avoid temptation to do extra. If you feel tired, avoid temptation to skp. If you need, you can do short, but avoid skipping completely. Something is better than nothing.
  • Share your progress, workout screenshots, post-workout photos in the Whatsapp group created for all the program participants
