Excited about those new pair of shoes you plan to use on race day! Don’t wait till race day! Especially if they are a different model/brand than your current ones!
Break into new shoes at least 2-3 weeks before your race. If using a different model/brand, use them for short and easy runs only at first. This way, if the shoes are not suiting you, you will find out well before the race and avoid unpleasant surprises on race day.
