Do a swim warmup before the race

Many races allow access to the swim venue for a short period of time the morning of the race.

Use this opportunity and make sure to get a very short and easy swim during this time. At the very least, just go and dunk yourself in the water.

This is critical to reduce your anxiety and prime yourself both mentally and physically for the upcoming swim start.
